


At dynamic we offer lessons of a wide range of different dance styles, aiming to cater to the needs of every member. Upon joining you will be able to follow up to 8 hours of different lessons and trainings each week providing variation in level and style.
Ballet
Ballet is a dance style originated in Italy and later developed in France and Russia. Its influence has spread far and wide, defining the foundational techniques for almost all other dance styles. There are many famous ballet plays, such as the Nutcracker, Romeo and Juliet and of course Swan Lake. Ballet is characterised by its strict body alignment, turnout of the legs and specific postions of the arms.
Modern/Contemporary
Modern and contemporary dance have their roots mainly in ballet, originating during the mid 20th century as a rejection of classical ballet. While ballet focusses on strict and tight movements, contemporary is a lot more free flowing and focuses on emotional expression. That does not mean that there is no technique, contemporary puts a strong emphasis on legwork and floorwork, using more grounded and fluid movements and sometimes even improvisation.
Jazz/Commercial
Jazz dance also finds its roots in Ballet, keeping more of the technique but making the movements more explosive and fast passed. It is difficult to give one definition of Jazz as it borrows from lots of styles, envolving into many substyles. Most noteable is commercial jazz, which can be found everywhere in pop-culture. It is very structured, using sharp and attention grabbing movements. Other well known sub-styles of Jazz are Broadway Jazz and Jazz-Funk, but there are many more.
Hip-Hop
Hip-hop is a social and cultural movement that originated in New York during the 60’s and 70’s among African American and Latino communities. Music and dance became important forms of expression with in the movement. Hip-hop dance, often accompanied by hip-hop music, is a dynamic and energetic style, with its technique focussing on isolation, rhythmic precision and indivudual expression.
Breakdance
Breakdance is a form of street dance that originated in African-American communities. Well-known movements are standing and spinning on your head, freezes and power moves. There is a strong emphasis on energy, movement, strength and control.
Commercial
Commercial dance refers to a dance style that is designed to be performed in theatre or on stage. It is characterised by its high energy movement and use of props and costumes. Commercial incorporates elements from all other dance styles.
K-pop
K-pop dance is a combination of mainly hip-hop and jazz, though it can contain other dance styles. The choreography is specifically on Korean pop music. In recent years there has been a huge increase in k-pop dancers due to the booming popularity of the K-pop industry.

Dancehall
Dancehall is a type of dance that originated in the 1970’s in Jamaica. It is known for its energetic and acrobatic movements, as well as quick footwork.
Bollywood
Bollywood dancing is the dance style seen in Indian films and series, making it a highly theatrical and colourful style. It takes inspiration from traditional Indian dance styles, as well as western styles.
